Popularly known since the nineteenth century as Las Meninas, the painting was originally titled The Family of Philip IV and is probably the most important work of Spanish painter Diego Velazquez. It is a painting done to the oil on a canvas of large dimensions, with the figures represented natural size. Although it has no signature or date, for indirect sources dates from 1656. Is exposed in the Museo del Prado in Madrid
