STRUCTURE OF THE WORK
Approach: Meeting of Thomas Pebbles with students who receive and subsidize their studies
Salamanca for eight years.
Node: Travel through Italy and Flanders in company with Captain Valdivia. Bachelor of Laws upon his return to
Salamanca. Poisoning that leads to madness, induced by the desire of a lady to get her
love.
Outcome: Due to a religious healing, loss of popularity and return to Flanders as a soldier, along with
his friend Captain Valdivia. As a military man dies.
PURPOSE OF THE AUTHOR
In this work we want to reflect as Cervantes this society at that time making a criticism or satire
to it.
I think some are also some episodes of the life of Cervantes reflected as he was also a
educated man, writer and soldier.
THEME OF THE WORK
It relates the adventures of a witty character, even in the madness that is admired. you start it out succeeds
forward and succeed in it. Cervantes uses the character to ridicule and satirize the customs and
characters of his time.

ABSTRACT
Two gentlemen students encounter on the banks of the river Tormes, a child of eleven, named Thomas,
Salamanca which sought to find a master who in return give him work studies; proposal
students willingly accept. Not long for their loyalty and good service had become
partner and not a servant, and becoming quite popular in the University for his remarkable wit.
At eight years the Knights finished their studies and decided to return to Malaga, the city, but
after being in this beautiful town Tomas asks permission from their masters to return to Salamanca. In the
way is with an infantry captain of His Majesty which he praised the way of life
and persuading soldiers to join him in his journey through Italy and Flanders.
When he returns from his trip to Italy he graduated in law in the city of Salamanca where he awakens the love of
a lady, who scorned to not be reciprocated his passion for Thomas, who lost in his studies
is fixed in the love that is offered, choose to rely on magical power of a Moorish, who introduces a
spell in a quince for Thomas, for it, to eat, can not live without the love of the lady.
The magic occurs in the large student and a serious illness strikes, leading to the original
glass madness of believing, not letting anyone come near him and asking people to ask questions,
no matter your difficulty, he could answer them easily. The Master Glass and called himself,
spent his days walking the streets and satirizing just about everything around him. Winter nights

ANALYSIS OF THE CHARACTERS
Slice Thomas: At the beginning of the book has the age of eight. It's a boy who dreams of studying and
be known in order to honor his family and his city. Nothing is known of his past but it is assumed
poor for their clothes. He has a great desire to learn new things, this was achieved not only with studies
but also to travel. It's witty and clever, get the favors of the people around you.
> It has very clear ideas as a child and in his madness is critical and sarcastic, but is capable of
adaptation when he sees that is not understood.
Thomas Amos Slice: These two gentlemen students, who collect in exchange for giving their service
study. Eight years living with Thomas.
Captain Valdivia: It is nice friend of the protagonist on his way from Malaga to Salamanca, which
Italian soil eventually. Finally when it has gone from being Licentiate Degree Wheel
and things did not go well in Salamanca decides to return with him to Flanders.
Lady: He falls in love Thomas, but being rejected by him, try to conquer it through potions, that far
to achieve its objective, poisoning caused him to madness.
Religious of the Order of St. Jerome: After spending two years considering Thomas Glass, this
restores her sanity.
Boys of the people appear repeatedly in the work or getting to the protagonist, well
asking questions.
Prince: He was in court when the Master Glass was booming.
Moorish: Character makes the lady that the potion that poisons Thomas.
PERSONAL CRITICISM

This book I liked a lot but I see it too fanciful, yet full of lessons.
I think this very well expressed and the vocabulary is easier sized novels as it is more
evolved and is more like talking now.
I found it a bit heavy and I think it's probably because I'm not used to reading so many novels
in a short time and also do the work and after three other books I start to sweat a little.
