Earth consists Of 4 concentric layers:inner Core, outer core, mantle and crust. Crust is Made up of tectonic plates, which are in constant motion.Earthquakes And volcanoes are most lickely to accur at plate boundaries.Inner Core:isin The center and is the hottest part of the earth. Is solid and made up Of iron and nickel with temperatures 5,500ºC.Outer Core: Layer surrounding the inner core. Is a liquid layer, also made up of Iron and nickel. Temperatures = to inner core. Mantle:widest Section of the earth. Has a thickness of aprox 2,900km. Mantle is Made up of semi-molten rock called magma.Crust:outer Layer of the earth. Thin layer between 0-60km thick. Crust is the Solid rock layer upon which we live.2 Different types of crust: Continental (which carries land) oceanic (which carries Water)Tectonic Plate theory:continental Fit->structures and anomalies/-volcanoes and earthquakes Distribution/-magnetic anomalies over ocean ridges->ages and Distribution/-the earth is a thermal engine->mechanism that Converts thermal (heat flow from the inner part) in mechanical Work(mantle convection and plates movements)Constructive Boundary:the Plates are moving apart, move apart due to convection currents inside The earth.Destructive Boundary: Plates moving towards each other, usually involves a continental Plate and an oceanic plate.Earthquakes:landslides, Snowslides, building's collapse, tsunamis. Homozygous: character with genotype containing the same information, the same allele. Phenotype: apparence of a character regardless of the genes
