They are joined in the second half, the flight of the world (poetry ascetic-moral), love of the divine (mystical poetry) and the patriotic ideal (epic cultured).
Nature
The nature is peaceful and harmonious Renaissance, is poetically idealized center is the locus amoenus, a topic that goes back to Virgil.
This friendly place provides a framework for the love scenes or mythological stories.
It is a green meadow full of coolness the soft murmur of the breeze and crystal clear waters of leafy trees, and who acts as a mute witness to whom the poet has his suffering by indifference or contempt of the beloved.
This nature haven of peace and harmony, plays in the ascetic poetry of the second half of the century another function: it is the shelter that houses the poet in their flight in search of spiritual refreshment and rest.
Love
Is influenced by Neoplatonic philosophy and has a Petrarchan conception: is shown detached from the carnal appetites and appears as a virtue of the understanding that elevates man from the material to the immaterial, overcoming sensuality.
The beloved has a goodness and beauty that are flashes of divinity, so that contemplation provides access to the contemplation of absolute beauty.
This deification of the beloved, love becomes an act of adoration, almost religious cult.
However, love appears as a source of frustration, because the love I found impossible to achieve, and only receives from his beloved indifference or contempt.

The poet experiences an unbearable pain and is forced to accuse their elusiveness (which antithesis concrete with fire / ice, day / night, peace / war), another company to escape and take refuge in nature or retreat into oneself (introspection) .

The beauty of the beloved is expressed in a physical picture, similarly repeated by the poets.
They use metaphors drawn from nature: lily skin, golden blonde hair, ruby lips like (the pink, coral), pearly teeth ...
Thus, the beauty of the beloved, competes with the qualities of nature.
