Cholinergic Agonists Indirect inhibitors of AChE

.- Reversible
Short-acting: Edrophonium
Intermediate action: physostigmine (eserine), neostigmine (Prostigmin), pyridostigmine.
Other: donepezil, galantamine, rivastigmine (against AD)

· Direct cholinergic agonists
choline-esters: ACh, betamecol
-natural alkaloids: muscarine, pilocarpine, arecoline
synthetic derivatives: oxotrmorina, cevimeline, taclinfensina.


muscarinic antagonists

-Alkaloids: atropine (hyoscyamine), scopolamine (hisoscina).
Semisynthetic derivatives and synthetic -
· With N tertiary tropicamina, cyclopentolate, homatropine, biperiden benztopina, trihexifemidilo, tollerodina, solifenacin.
· With N quaternary: Br ipratropium, tiotropium Br, butylscopolamine br, oticonio Br, propantheline Br, pinaverio, trospium.
-Other drugs with atropine-like effects: anti H1, antidepressant, tricyclic.

b adrenergic antagonists:

- Non-selective: nadolol, sotalol, propranolol, timocol. The latter two drugs are inverse agonists.
- Non-selective and partial agonists:
carteolol, oxprenolol.
- Â 1 antagonist
atenolol, bisoprolol, esmolol, metoprolol, nebivolol (this increases the production of endothelial NO).
- 1 and antagonists to partial agonists of A 2 celiprolol.
- Antagonists á and â:
labetalol, carvedilol.

1.Acción short: triazolem, midazolam, sedation is used for veterinary
2.Acción term:> alprazolam, mitrazepam, bromazepam (lexatin), flunitrazepam, ketazolam, lorazepam, lormetanzepam, oxacepram, tenazpam.
3.Acción long diazepam, flurazepam. clonazepam, clobazepam, clorazepate, clordirzepoxido, medazepam, nordiazepam.




Tricyclic antidepressants

* Classic: imipramine, desipramine, amitriptyline, nortriptyline, clomipramine, amoxapine, Tianeptine.

* SSRIs: fluoxetine, fluvoxamine, paroxetine, citalopam, escitalopram, sertraline.
* 5HT reuptake inhibitors and NA: venlafaxine duloxatina, milnazipram.
* Selective NA reuptake: Reboxetine
* Other antidepressants:
trazodone, mianserin, bupropion, miratazapina, Iprindole

MAOI antidepressants

Nonselective and irreversible MAO inhibitors (serotonin and NA) and irreversibly.
hydrazino derivatives

: Iproniazid, phenelzine
hydrazino-derivatives: tranylcypromine, pargyline
Selective and irreversible (MAOA or MAOB inhibitors)
MAOIs: clorgyline, is experimental
IMAOb: = deprenyl selegiline (not antidepressants because DOPA is not important in depression.

1. GABA-A: BDZ (lorazepam, diazepam, clobazam, clonazepam) and Brb topiramate (phenobarbital, primidone)
