GEOSTATIONARY SATELLITE ARE THOSE SATELLITES WHOSE PERIOD OF REVOLUTION AROUND THE EARTH IS EQUAL TO THE PERIOD OF ROTATION OF THE EARTH. THEY REVOLVE AROUND THE EARTH FROM WEST TO EAST, TROUGH THE EQUATIONAL PLANE. THE HIGHT OF THE GEOSTATIONARY ORBIT IS APPROXIMATELY 3600KM ABOVE THE EARTH SURFACE. ORBITAL VELOCITY IS NEARLY EQUAL TO 3.08KM/S. IT IS USED FOR COMMUNICATION PURPOSES

POLAR SATELLITE ARE THOSE WHICH FOSSIL WITH THE NORTH AND SOUTH POLES OF THE EARTH. SINCE THE EARTH ISROTATING ABOUT ITS AXIS THESE SATELLITES PASSOVER DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE EARTH DURING ITS REVOLUTION. THEY GENERALLY REVOLVE VERY CLOSE TO THE SURFACE OF THE EARTH. THESE SATELLITES ARE EMPLOYED BY THE ARMY OF SPYING AND SURVEILLANCE OF THE MOVEMENTS OF TANKS AND SHIPS. THEY ARE ALSO USED FOR WEATHER MONOTORING AND REMOTE SENSING MOUSE OVER  ON THE UNDERLYING TEXT FOR MORE INFORMATION
