 Tactical medical kit: the medical equipment that is carried by the EMT. It is designed to cover the
needs of the team. In the operational environment, that equipment will prove valuable in reducing the
level of injury and stress — and promote a successful outcome.
 Medical Diagnostic equipment: Medical equipment (also known as armamentarium) is designed to
aid in the diagnosis, monitoring or treatment of medical conditions. Diagnostic equipment includes
medical imaging machines, used to aid in diagnosis. Examples are ultrasound and MRI machines, PET
and CT scanners, and x-ray machines. Diagnostic Medical Equipment may also be used in the home for
certain purposes, e.G. For the control of diabetes mellitus.
 First AID kit: is a collection of supplies and equipment for use in giving first aid, and can be put
together for the purpose by an individual or organization or purchased complete. There is a wide
variation in the contents of first aid kits based on the knowledge and experience of those putting it
together, the differing first aid requirements of the area where it may be used and variations in
legislation or regulation in a given area.
 Oxygen and airway management gear: In cases where people are having difficulty breathing, or are
unconscious and unable to maintain their own airway, paramedics use plastic tubes to keep the
patient's airway clear and open.
Oxygen is used by paramedics to treat patients who are suffering breathing problems, or respiratory
distress.

 Checklist: It is a type of informational job aid used to reduce failure by compensating for potential

 Report / account: It is any informational work made with the specific intention of relaying
information or recounting certain events in a widely presentable form. They are documents which
present focused.
3. Ambulance Types and services: Self assessment.
Ambulance and medical transport services involve the use of specially designed and equipped vehicles
to transport ill or injured patients. These services may involve ground or air transport in both
emergency and non-emergency situations.
1) A given transport may be emergency or non-emergency.
2) An emergency response is one that, at the time the ambulance provider is called, it responds
immediately.
3) An emergency response is when: the absence of immediate medical condition could reasonably be
expected to result in placing the patient´s health in serious jeopardy.
4) Non-emergency response services can be scheduled or unscheduled.
