10 reasons to use games in language teaching: 1.Games create a context for meaningful communication. 2. This meaningful communication serves a basis for comprehensible input. 3. Games add interest to what learners find boring. 4. Games be used with all the language skills. 5. Games offer a fun experience. 6. Games encourage participation from all learners. 7. Games are learner-centered activities. 8. Games work outside of class. 9. Games promote cooperative learning. 10. Games fit into multiple intelligence theory. USING GAMES IN TEACHING ENGLISH TO YOUNG LEARNERS: 1.HOW TO CHOOSE A GAME: Students may wish to play games purely for fun. Teachers need more convincing reasons. They key to a succesfull language game is that the rules are clear. The ultimate goal is well defined and the game must be fun. 2.HINTS AND SUGGESTIONS.  When giving instructions to begginers, a few words in te mother tongue would be the quickest way to make everything dear. More English exposure is needed at a later stage./Games are best set up by demonstration rather than by lenghty explanation/ Its very important not to play a game for too long. Students will begin to lose interest. Its best to stop a game. WHY USING SONGS IN THE CLASSROOM: There are many reasons for using songs and actions in the kindergarten classroom: They´re memorable,the engage differents types of learners, they chanel energy effectively, they´re enjoyable and managing the classroom. 4 IMPORTANT REASON FOR INCLUDING MUSIC IN THE CLASSROOM: 1. Mental capacity and intellect. 2 master of physical self, children develop coordination, wich aids muscular development. 3. Development of the affective aspects. 4. Development of creativity. TYPES OF SONGS: Original Songs: Created for native speakers. Good for teaching cultura, but, sometimes, through difficult vocabulary. Adopted Songs: Original songs adapted for non- native speakers. Murshery rhymes: Original songs for very young native speakers which we can use for infant education. Chants: Short poems with rythm created with a drum, with your own fingers, clapping... USING STORIES IN CLASS: WHAT CAN STORYTELLING OFFER?: Allow children to explore their own cultural roots, allow children to experience diverse cultures, enable children to empathise with unfamiliar people, offer insights into different tradition and values and help children consier new ideas. OTHER BENEFITS OF USING STORYTELLING IN THE CLASsROOM STORIES: Promote a eeling of well-being and relaxation, Encourage active participation, increase verbal proficiency and encourage use of imagination and creativity.
