1.What is Logistics?

Logistics is the time related positioning of resources or, the Strategic management of the total supply-chain. This is a sequence of events Intended to satisfy a customer. It can include procurement, manufacture, Distribution and waste disposal, transport, storage and information technology.

So, logistics Is the function that is responsible for movement of goods and products. It is Responsible for the transport and storage of materials on their journey between Suppliers and customers. Also moves materials through the different parts of an Organization, collecting from internal suppliers and delivering to internal Customers:

·Inbound or inward logistics: moving materials Into the organization from suppliers.

·Outbound or outward logistics: moving materials Out to customers.

·Material management: moving materials within the Organization.
