DOMESTIC POLICY: Nicholas III was an absolue monarch who have governed with the support of nobility, the Orthodok. Several clandestine parties opposed to the government, church and the Army. Constitutional Democratic Party wanted to transform Russia into  a Constitutional Monarchy. Socialist Revolutionary party wanted to collective lands. Mensheviks favoured a liberal regime that would make a gradual transition, to socialism. Bolsheviks wanted to stablish a proletariat dictatorship. The economy was mainly agrarian and 80% of the population were peasasnts. Serfdom had been abolished, but the relationship between nobility and peasants were still feudal in character. There were some industrialisation in Russia. Railway construction ad heavy industry led to the emergence of a proletaria. However, the industrial development was promote by breign investment and the State.
FEBRUARY REVOLUTION: on 23rd February, a general strike broke out in Saint Peersburg, and there were mutinies among the soldiers. On 27th February the Provisional Government was formed under the moderate socialism . Nicholas II abdicated on the 13rd March. Workers, peasants and soldiers formed soviets all over the country. Leanin, leader of the Bolshevik Party, returned from exile and porposed new program based on the april Theses: The country had to be ruled by Soviets. Control of factories by workers committees. Redistribution of the lands. Russian wilthdrawal from the war. Defeats in the war and civil discontent led to a popular insurrction in Saint Petersburg, now Petrogrand in july. The government accused the Bolshevik and Lening went  back into exist.
RUSSIAN Civil War(1918-1921): Landomer, military commander, Orthodose Church and those who favoured a liberal political system created the White Army. These counter-revolutionaries were supported by other countries, who favoured the spread of Revolution. They fought against Bolshevik Red Army in a Civil War. The Bolsheviks won the war and sablished a commuist dictatorship CCommunist Party was the only party and the other were banned.
