7.Finance capitalism consolidated and increased the inequalities between the different social classes in European countries. The upper and middle classes became wealther and consumed large quantities of manufactured goods . However , the working class worked for low wages and experienced poor working conditions and unemployment . 

7.1 the consumer society the end of the 19th century was marked by the development of a new consumer society that was based on the acquitision of manufactured goods . Luxury products were expecially popular among the middle and upper classes as sign of wealth and prestige : This new consumerism was manifestated in a number of ways : 
Advertising- businesses used posters and various types of printed advertisments ind newspapers and magazines to inform customers about their products and increase their sales .
New luxury items- members of the upper class demonstrated their wealth by buying expensive new luxury products, sucha as telephones  and cars
