3 Acts of Intellect

   1) Simple Apprehension - mental activity where we form ideas
   2) Judgement    - MA where we put together ideas to determine whts T/F
   3) Reasoning    - Controlled carefully ordered mode of thought directed towards the discovery of truth

idea = product of simple apprehension
Statement = product of judgement
argument = product of reasoning

ARguments are either valid or invalid
valid arguement that is also true is sound

Inferential Reasoning of Conditionals = if - then
Modus Tollens = way of negating

argument has two parts
   1) premise = statement from which the conclusion should follow
   2) conclusion = statement that follows from the premise

conditionals
   1) Necessary Conditional
   2) Sufficient Conditional

Definition = a necessary and sufficient condition

Counterexample = another basic argument
