Hypothalamus- regulates body temp, hunger, thirst, and sexual behavior.

Pituitary gland- (Master Gland) releases hormones that direct many other glands.

Endocrine system- network of glands that produce and secrete into the blood. Made up of: pineal gland, hypothalamus, pituitary, thyroid, adrenal, pancreas, ovary, and testis.

Pineal gland- regulates melatonin

Adrenal glands- adrenalin, energy.

Thyroid glands- regulates metabolism.

Cerebral cortex- made up of the four lobes of the brain. Smooth surface called Gyri. Indents are called Suici. Left hemisphere controls rational decisions. Right hemisphere controls emotional decisions.

Corpus callosum- Thick band of nerve fibers that connects the two hemispheres of the brain and supports communication between them.

Occipital lobe- located at the back of the cerebral cortex processes visual info.

Parietal lobe- processing information about touch.

Temporal lobe- responsible for hearing and language.

Frontal lobe- areas of movement, abstract thinking, planning, memory, and judgement.
